The Rajasthan State Legislature Act 17 allowed for the establishment of Jayoti Vidyapeeth Women's University in Jaipur in 2008. The first private state women's university in India is the Jayoti Vidyapeeth Women's University. It has NAAC accreditation and UGC recognition. Over 30,000 students are enrolled at the university. It provides more than 120 academic programs. Regular, distance, and research courses are all offered by the institution. Distance education programs are available for both men and women, and regular programs are exclusively for women. The ratio of students to instructors is 1:9. Merit in a variety of national and state-level exams determines admission to the institution. On the basis of rank in the prior qualifying exam, it also provides direct admission. The university has filed more than 59 patents, published more than 2300 scientific papers, and than 50 copyrights.
