The National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management was founded in 2012, located in Sonipat, Haryana. The institute is affiliated with MOFPI and UGC. The objective of this institute is to offer excellent education and research in Food Technology & Engineering.NIFTEM has been ranked 151st in the Engineering department and 24th in the Architecture department by NIRF in 2023.

NIFTEM provides courses in BTech, MTech, MBA, and PhD. The admission criteria for BTech are the JEE Main (Paper-1) score. NIFTEM BTech cutoff score for the year 2023 remained at 75166 ranks for the general category students. For MTech admission, the institute accepts GATE scores, but NIFTEM also has its own entrance test for those who do not have a GATE score. NIFTEM also offers an MBA program for a duration of 2 years. NIFTEM Admission 2024

National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM), is deemed to be a university which is set up by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries and was founded in 2012. It provides B.Tech., M.Tech., MBA, and Ph.D. courses in different fields of food technology and management. NIFTEM accepts JEE mains for admission to its BTech programs. For PG admissions like MTech and MBA, GATE and CAT/MAT scores are accepted by the institute. Further, Ph.D. admission is based on a Research Entrance Test (RET) followed by an Interview/Presentation conducted by NIFTEM.

• Library- The NIFTEM library is known as the NIFTEM Knowledge Centre NKC) and it provides all the possible information through the internet. NKC is equipped with modern facilities and resources such as books, e-books, journals, online databases, etc.
• Auditorium- NIFTEM has a fully equipped auditorium with a seating capacity of 650 and state-of-the-art facilities as well as lights and sound systems to support programs, conferences, etc.
• Medical Facilities- NIFTEM provides round-the-clock medical facilities which include doctors and paramedical staff. Also, the campus dispensary has been provided with all the first aid medicines and an ambulance.

NIFTEM Scholarship

NIFTEM provides various scholarship schemes to its eligible students. Students enrolled across the BTech, MTech, or MBA programs are awarded scholarships based on their merit. The college has set certain eligibility criteria for the scholarship schemes that the students need to fulfill. The NIFTEM Sonepat scholarship details are given below.

• Merit Scholarship: This scholarship is given to the best three students in B.Tech. and the best student in each MTech program based on their merit. The NIFTEM Merit scholarship is usually paid in the second semester. After that, only the top students of each year get scholarships for the next year and the following years. It includes a tuition fee waiver and a fixed monthly stipend.
• Merit-cum-Means Scholarship: This scholarship is given to MTech students who have both merit and financial need. Their family income should not be more than INR 2,50,000. MCM scholarships are given to 5% of students or six students in MTech (one in each of the five streams). It includes a tuition fee waiver and a fixed monthly stipend for 10 months.

Ques. What is a preferable choice: an MTech in food from NIFTEM or an MS in food from CFTRI for a BE graduate?

Ans. CFTRI is not as good of a choice as NIFTEM. Unlike any other university that grants degrees in food technology, it is distinct and provides greater exposure and grooming. More than just studying from textbooks is required for a postgraduate degree. NIFTEM is among the greatest choices if you have an industrial focus. You will study eight to nine subjects and make two community visits as part of the community Adoption Programme over the first two semesters. You will complete a semester-long internship in the third semester. Your internship tasks will determine how well you do. You have three options for the last semester: go back to school and complete a research project, obtain a PPO from a business, or continue your internship. The institute's maximum CTC offered in recent years was 8-10 LPA.
